Covid-19 restrictions forced the cancellation of this year’s banquet. The banquet has traditionally served as our annual meeting where we hold elections for Board member positions on a rotational basis. This year, the open positions are President and Treasurer.
At the October meeting, the Board voted to postpone the elections until January and hold them online. Meanwhile, the Board and interested members will be working on amending our bylaws towards the goal of keeping us current with technological changes, incorporating organizational details that have been instituted within the last five years, and allowing us flexibility for the next five years to come.
Look for an email in early January that lists the names and statements of the candidates running for election. That email will also detail the proposed changes to the bylaws of the association, which require voting approval by the membership.
Anyone wishing to nominate a candidate or herself for one of the open positions or assist with the review of the bylaws should contact Pat Dickon at pdickson1@earthlink.net, or Carolyn Brown at chezcab99@yahoo.com. We will be accepting nominations until Thursday December 3, 2020.
At 6:00 a.m. on Sunday January 17th 2021, all 2020 OSWGA members will receive an email providing access to voting. Voting will remain open until Wednesday January 20th at 8:00 p.m. This should allow ample time for everyone to have the opportunity to participate.
