OSWGA thanks Carolyn Brown and welcomes her replacements to Tournament Chair position……

OSWGA throws out a big THANK YOU to Carolyn Brown for her many years of tireless, dedicated service. Like most, she started by volunteering for different jobs. She served as Tournament Chair from 2004-2006, In 2008, after a change in the board she was voted by the board into the position of Acting Vice President. In 2009 she won the position at the annual banquet. In 2010 she was the recipient of the Trudy Dufault Service Award. She then served as Tournament Co-Chair in 2011. In March of 2011, JoAnn Bourque, Carolyn’s Tournament Co-Chair, stepped down to spend time with her ailing mother-Carolyn stepped in and took on the position of Tournament Chair “temporarily”. This temporary position has been filled by Carolyn to date.  Now, it’s Carolyn’s time to spend more time at home-she recently stepped down saying, “ I can’t commit the time to the position and feel it’s only fair to the organization to step down. Don’t worry, I’ll still be around. ” We saw her a week later checking in at Meadow Brook! So…Carolyn, thank you for your many years of hard work, great ideas and for constantly being the voice of reason!   And for those who didn’t know….she pretty much single handedly procured all of those rounds of golf that were raffled off at the banquet.

At the most recent board meeting, the candidates for the position of Tournament Chair were nominated by the Tournament Director and approved by the Board. Mary Ann MacLaughlin & Chris Anderson will serve as Tournament Co-Chairs for the remainder of the 2014 season. We welcome both ladies to this shared board position. Most of you know Chris and Mary Ann-you’ll see them at tournaments in the coming months as they are hands on and excited to take charge of the new job. Mary Ann is a long time member, volunteer, member of the Nominating Committee and Chris has been on the Tournament Committee helping with different aspects of tournaments including tee sign co-coordinator and  scoring volunteer.

We’re excited to work with them both and hope to see Carolyn out on the course soon!
